The thousand colours of the sea, from dawn to sunset, but also the changing sky, the dark and indented rock-face of the castle, the colours of nature, a sail ploughing the horizon.
The changing sounds of water,
but also
the silence of a night full of mystery, the voices of the fishermen at
sunrise, the calls of the seagulls, the slow sputtering of a fishing
boat, the chime of the bells.
The perfume rising from the waves, but
also the fragrance of bread just made, or the good aroma of wine coming
out from an old cellar; the scent of flowers that hits you at a corner
of a road; the “earth sweat” in the hot summer days; the smell of sand.
The saltiness of the sea, but also the
taste of the lemon marmalade; the scented flavour of fish dishes or of a
simple “Caprese” salad; the buffalo mozzarella cheese or the
“sfogliatella”; the clover or wisteria flowers picked and eaten during a
walk; a good glass of wine, simply offered in a cellar.
The cool embrace of the waves, but also
the rough lava stones with which the walls in the fields – the parracine
– are made, or the rocks where you can lay and sunbathe; the smooth
trunk of an eucalyptus tree or the burnished marble of a sculpture; the
soft and warm caress of dry sand; the warmth of thermal waters mixing
with the sea waves.
An old convent dating back to the 13th century has become my home. Built on the sea, it enjoys a 180 degree view, from the Aragonese Castle to Punta Molino, passing through Vesuvius, the islands of Procida and Vivara and the mainland.
The apartment has thick walls and vaulted ceilings, and a balcony on mighty arches. The room is spacious and quiet, cool in summer, heated in winter, overlooking the sea. The works carried out in 2013 made it possible to create a small bathroom for guests and install the heating system throughout the house, which can thus be used with maximum comfort for 365 days a year.
Located in the ancient Borgo di Celsa, the oldest part of Ischia Ponte, it is close to the port and the shopping streets, but allows you to easily reach the hilly area with its beautiful walks. The island of Ischia, with a long and rich history - it was the first colony of Magna Graecia in the West - is famous for its thermal waters and is also called the green island for the beautiful vegetation that covers it. Inserted in the Kingdom of Neptune marine park, it offers the possibility of specific stays for all ages: diving and excursions, beaches and rocks, spa treatments and excellent cuisine, traditional festivals and trendy clubs… it's hard to be disappointed!

This is Ischia Ponte, the "Borgo di Celsa" - so called for the mulberry plants planted by the Augustinian monks for the cultivation of silkworms -, an ancient fishing village.
The main road, which will take you in front of the Aragonese Castle, crosses the history and contrasts of the first inhabited center of the municipality of Ischia, and was the scene of the Neapolitan revolution of 1799.
On one side of the street, the noble architecture of the palaces of the "lords", on the other the poor architecture of the fishermen's houses, low so as not to deprive the "lords" of the view of the sea. And then churches full of stories of illustrious and famous bishops.
I will do
my best to make your holiday unforgetable.
I can suggest you
restaurants and good Italian food, arrange for a scooter or a car

and the right moment to do it.
Dear Gina ! Thank you so much for a wonderful time in Ischia! After a long and tiring journey we were met with a friendly smile, a warm welcome, nice hot tea on the balcony and a great conversation! We truly enjoyed every minute here and wish you the best of luck in working to make an already beautiful home even more spectacular! Thanks for Everything!
Dear Gina, you have a lovely, clean and comfortable home which made us feel very relaxed. Thank you for opening your home to us and helping us to end our holiday in Italy in a most lovely and special way. We felt so at home. Breakfast on the balcony was so great. You are a wonderful host and your home was a perfect location, away from the busy port and with a great view. Thank you so much Gina!
Absolutely loved our stay with Gina, it really was like being part of her family. Staying there with the view of the sea from the balcony as we ate the fantastic fresh breakfast which Gina prepared, and then the noise of the calm waves lulling us to sleep was absolutely bliss, really restorative. Gina went out of her way to show us her beautiful island, helping us get around, calling to museums to check opening times and so on. She is an excellent, welcoming host. The room is an excellent size, very comfortable bed, lots of free tea provided, a fantastic library of English and French language classic novels, and full of fantastic art. We cannot wait to return next year!
Definitely the best breakfast view we ever had on holiday. Gina‘s hospitality made us feel very welcome and at home and her fruit jams are absolutely delicious!
